Common Work of Study
 
 
The common work of study for 2010 will be Haydn Op. 54 No. 1.
 
There is a public domain edition (score and parts) available here:
 
 
The new Peters Edition, edited by Simon Rowland-Jones, is highly recommended
 
This common work will be used in two ways:

  • The entire quartet will be used as a point of reference during group workshops and electives.  For example, a technique class  might include a selected passage from the common work to illustrate a particular technical problem.
  • The second and third movements will form the basis for the "Mix and Match Quartet" elective. It will be a significant advantage to be thoroughly familiar with these two movements.
